Why we vet providers

Most families don't have the time or expertise to properly assess a Support at Home provider.

There are hundreds of approved Support at Home providers in Australia — but government approval does not mean they are all equal in quality, responsiveness, or fit for your family. WithSally only recommends Support at Home providers we have reviewed against our own criteria.

What we look at

Eight areas — each one matters for a different reason.

Compliance record
We check the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission record for any compliance notices, sanctions, or quality concerns specific to their home care operations.
Approved provider status
Provider must be a currently approved Support at Home provider under the Australian Government's aged care framework.
Years of operation
We note how long the provider has been delivering home care services and their track record in the sector.
Worker employment practices
Whether support workers are directly employed or sourced through labour hire. Directly employed workers generally have stronger supervision and consistency.
Client feedback
We consider available client reviews and feedback on their home care services where accessible.
Fee transparency
We look for clear, upfront home care fee schedules with no hidden charges. Providers who can't explain their management fees clearly don't make our list.
Specialist capabilities
Dementia care, palliative care, cultural and language support, and specific health conditions — we align home care capabilities to your situation.
Geographic coverage
Whether the provider genuinely delivers services in the client's suburb with appropriate visit frequency — not just a nominal service area.

What disqualifies a provider

Any of the following will exclude a provider from our recommendations:

Active compliance notices or sanctions from the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission related to home care
Not a currently approved Support at Home provider under the Australian Government framework
Unable to clearly explain their home care fee structure, including management fees
Unable to deliver services in the client's suburb with appropriate visit frequency
No demonstrated experience in the client's specific home care needs

We are completely independent

We do not own, invest in, or receive referral kickbacks from any provider. Our fee is paid by the provider when you sign a service agreement.

We have no financial incentive to recommend one provider over another beyond finding you the best fit for your situation.

What we can't guarantee

We assess providers against our criteria at the time of recommendation. Provider quality can change. We cannot monitor every provider continuously.

If you experience problems with a provider we recommended, contact us and we will help you find an alternative. Ultimately, your service agreement is between you and your provider.
